BBN is looking for a volunteer skilled in executive coaching to support our Executive Director or key organizational leader through 5–6 virtual coaching sessions. The goal is to strengthen leadership capacity as BBN manages program growth, board development, new initiatives, and organizational change.

We are specifically seeking coaching support in change management, leadership decision-making, earning buy-in, communication with board and team members, prioritization, delegation, accountability, and maintaining organizational culture during a period of transition and growth.

The volunteer would help the leader reflect on current challenges, identify leadership strengths and gaps, develop practical tools for navigating change, and create a short leadership action plan that can be used over the next 60–90 days.
BBN’s mission is to unite and empower Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals in Minnesota through community support, economic development, and advocacy. Strong leadership is essential to delivering that mission effectively.

This project will help BBN strengthen internal leadership capacity as we expand and refine programs such as Business Ascend, the BBN Technical Assistance Network, Economic Visibility activities, and Pathways to Commercial Ownership. By helping our leadership team make clearer decisions, manage change, communicate effectively, and stay aligned with board and community priorities, the volunteer will directly support BBN’s ability to serve Black businesses with greater consistency, accountability, and impact.
BBN is ready to begin this project and will provide the volunteer with background information on our mission, current programs, leadership structure, major organizational goals, and upcoming planning priorities. We can meet virtually and commit to 5–6 coaching sessions of 60–90 minutes each.

We will come prepared with specific leadership challenges, current priorities, and areas where coaching support is needed. We will also provide timely feedback, complete reflection or action items between sessions, and use the coaching outcomes to support leadership planning, board communication, and stronger program implementation.
