UProoted Chesapeake is preparing for the upcoming school year and is seeking a skilled volunteer to assist with grant writing. We are looking for support in researching and identifying 5-7 grant opportunities that align with our mission, as well as writing 2-3 grant proposals to submit to foundations and funders. Our goal is to secure funding that allows us to continue serving youth in our community.
UProoted Chesapeake exists to empower youth and build stronger communities. We serve two underserved communities — military-connected youth and multilingual learners — who often face unique challenges and barriers. Our main focus is coordinating cultural and educational programs that help students feel represented while fostering understanding and inclusion across the broader school community. Securing grants means we can keep these programs running and continue showing up for the young people who count on us. A volunteer's time and talent in grant writing directly translates to more resources, more opportunities, and more impact for the youth we serve.
We're ready to hit the ground running! Our team is aligned and committed to this work — we'll have everything the volunteer needs ready to go, including our program info, budget, and impact data. We have a dedicated point of contact who will be responsive and easy to work with. Any completed proposals will go straight to our leadership for review and submission.
